Masters Program Faculty

Robert L. Fried, EdD, is the author of many books and monographs on the art of teaching, including The Passionate Teacher, The Passionate Learner and The Game of School.  Dr. Fried has been a professor of education at Northeastern University School of Education in Boston, as well as a consultant to universities and school districts on topics related to passionate teaching and authentic learning.  He has also been Director of the New Hampshire State Office of Community Education. 

Ken Grossman, EdD, has been a middle and high school science teacher, a professor of philosophy and education, and director of an alternative school.  Dr. Grossman’s past association with UVEI includes serving as a consultant for a UVEI/Newport School District mentoring project as well as being a Supervisor to teacher interns.  Most recently, he was the lead faculty member for the UVEI/New England College masters program cohort.

Maura A. Hart, EdD, is an Adjunct Core Faculty member at Antioch University New England, where she instructs and facilitates MEd candidates and coordinates the Critical Skills Program.  Dr. Hart is also a consultant for Successful School Change at the Antioch Center for School renewal, providing school and teacher coaching, especially in the areas of building collaborative learning communities and creating problem-based learning communities.
