Cancellation and Refund Policy

This policy pertains to the candidates who will be initiating the first series of Master’s Degree Program Cohorts, during 2011 – 2012.  As the Program becomes established, the policy may be revised to reflect our experience.

The Candidate shall pay tuition in the amount of $6,000, plus a one-time Registration Fee of $250.   For Candidates who begin the Program in June/July, one-third the tuition, or $2,000, is due on or before September 1; $2,000 by January 1; and the remaining $2,000 by April 1, 1 unless another payment plan has been agreed upon.

For Candidates who begin the Program in January, one-third the tuition, or $2,000, is due on or before March 1; $2,000 by June 1; and the remaining $2,000 by September 1 unless another payment plan has been agreed upon.  Optional payment plans are possible and should be discussed with the Office Manager.

BUYER’S RIGHT TO CANCEL STATEMENT:  A Candidate beginning in June/July has the right to withdraw from the program and cancel this agreement from the date of acceptance at UVEI through July 31 (or the beginning of the second Seminar of the Summer Seminar Series, whichever is later), with no further financial obligation to UVEI.  The corresponding date for Candidates beginning in January is February 15.  Under extraordinary circumstances, and with the approval of the Director of Graduate Studies, these “Cancel” dates may be adjusted

The UVEI tuition refund policy is as follows:  The $250 Registration Fee is refundable if the Candidate withdraws prior to attending the second Seminar of the initial Seminar Series.  A Candidate’s tuition will be prorated, as a percentage of time enrolled in the program, beginning with the second Seminar of the initial Seminar Series and extending up to the midpoint of the Fall or Spring Seminar Series, normally the middle of October or the middle of March).   After the semester’s midpoint, there will normally be no refund of tuition, except in case of an emergency situation, in which case the Executive Director may allow for a partial, proportionate refund of tuition. UVEI will consider the date of withdrawn as the time we receive written or verbal notification from the Candidate.   Tuition refund calculations also include all financial aid that had been awarded and applied to the Candidate’s account at UVEI. We follow the mandated R2t4 calculation policy.  In all cases of refunds due, these will be paid within 30 days of the Candidate’s withdrawal.

If UVEI cancels a program subsequent to a Candidate’s enrollment, UVEI will refund all monies paid by the student, including Registration fees.

The Candidate understands that official program and graduation documentation will not be released until all library books are returned, written work is complete, and the Candidate’s financial account is paid in full.

EMPLOYMENT GUARANTEE DISCLAIMER:  It is understood by the Candidate that UVEI does not maintain a Job Placement Office or Placement Officer. UVEI staff endeavor to make themselves available to assist Candidates in their pursuit of job placement, such as by initiating or responding to contacts with school officials, or alerting Candidates of positions that become known to us.  UVEI does not guarantee employment of its graduates upon or after receipt of certification.
